Sustain note Patch??

Does anyone know of a patch or setting that will hold a note for a long time? I was trying to get something like at the end of Trans-Siberian Orchestra - O' Come All Ye Faithful / O' Holy Night ...where the last note goes on for ever. Thanks, Ben

2 good ways come to mind.

A 'Sustainer' pickup like Steve Vai and many others use.

Or a lot of 'Volume' with an optional 'Mid' boost at the right frequency.

Or attach a controller to a compressor

How about a ducked delay with feedback controlled by the envelope?
