Strandberg Boden 7 - change pickups?

Just broke a tiny piece on the battery compartment trying to change my dying battery on my strandberg...

This got me seriously thinking about changing to some passive 7 string pickups. The potential coil split would be much nicer than the fishman moderns as well. I was wondering if anyone dove into swapping out pickups on any of their 7 string guitars and had any thoughts?
