stand in switches - hold function?

Can I use the hold-function with stand in (external) switches?
I was able to set up my external switches, but unfortunately only the tap function.
Is the hold function possible with an external switch?
If so, what could I have done wrong?
(Yes, actually I think I understand the stand-in switch concept)

You can use it with any external switch. Let's say you use FC Pedal 1. Just right click on stack/hold and choose FC pedal 1 from the list. Done!

Yes, I know that.
For some strange reason the hold function didn't work.
I restarted the FM3 and now it works
