Solved: That's a bit...

I would consider myself an advanced Mac user, and would like to point out that 10.7 was extremely stable, in my experience moreso than 10.6 and certainly moreso than 10.8. 10.8 is getting close to the stability of 10.7 now but only after months of of updates. 10.8 will use slightly more system resources than 10.7, meaning you may notice a performance decrease to upgrade. It's silly to write off a whole version of an OS.
 
Will someone believe me if I said that at work, I'm on Mac OS 9.22 ? :p
I started on OS 6 !! I remember OS 7 as a complete dog but 9.2.2 was the finest with all that raw power of the G3 being maxed out by 2 x 512MB RAM modules :)
