Solo Act..Worth it?

Our rule as a duo (keys & guitar / two vocalists) with backing tracks (and very obviously so) is if you're playing and singing the parts you'd be doing even if you had a full band, then you're not cheating. Our human sloppiness and flubs nicely balance against the consistent solid performance of the silicon players. :)

The computer rarely gets drunk and hit's on the drummer's wife or picks a fight with the club owner. :)
The Beat Buddy percussion pedal has 'drunk' mode, and you can dial in how drunk you want the pedal to be.
It will swing the timing a bit to simulate your average intoxicated drummer.

This is not a joke. It's an actual feature on the pedal.

I'm still working on getting my Beat Buddy pedal to pick a fight.

Now that's funny!! I wish my band mates had a dial on them!!!

Our 4-piece band occasionally gets questions asking if we're using backing tracks. We don't, but I do some fun tricks with the Axe-Fx synth, looper, and sequencer capabilities on a few songs. My GR-55 guitar synth is also handy for confusing the audience. (Where is that piano sound coming from?)
Wow them with your singing and playing and no one will notice anything else.
People say "Wow!" when I sing, but it's for all the wrong reasons, lol.
