Soft reset going from Beta to final Firmware?

No need if you’ve already done it in a previous beta.

do you need to do a reset if you installed the new presets, banks abc?

Funny, i wrote a few seconds ago in the final release thread:

"A tip to all beta testers: There were some updates on tube hardness (preamp) and excursion time & recovery time (power tubes) since a beta reset of your amps. Minor differences, but if you want to be up to date, i recommend to compare your beta amps to a freshly reset one in 4.0.0 "

So yeah, try one. I had to update those mentioned parameters to be up to date
