...with an external preamp can I get as good of results as I do with my UA Apollo 16 for recording?
I plan to sell my AX8 and AxeFx 2xl+ and use the cash I was going to use to buy a backup Axe2 and buy a pair of Axe3’s when they come out and keep one at my rehearsal/recording space and the other to use in my apartment and for backup.
I have some pretty nice preamps and it would be nice to do some tracking at my apartment. I was going to get an Apogee or UA desktop unit for that purpose but since I’ll have an Axe3 around I’m thinking I might not need to if the quality is similar and I have the pres.
Will the Axe3 work well for this purpose too?
