So...Midi Question here...

Ok, so I just ordered an AxeFx Ultra and wanted to get a midi interface to use with it, since i have heard the old Uno i have is no good with it,

so I went and picked up an M-Audio Midisport 2x2 this morning.

Brought it home, and got to thinking...

did I really need this?

I also own an M-audio Profire 2626 firewire interface. It has a Midi I/O via a breakout cable

1 x 1 MIDI I/O (via included breakout cable)

So...

should I return the Midisport? or do I actually need it for some reason?

Can't I use the Profire2626 for sending my files back and forth to the computer?

And what's the deal with S/PDIF?

I've never had a problem with my M-Audio Uno using my mac to update the Axe-FX firmware--not using the editor.
