So... 4-cm: Diezel D-Moll + Axe FX II + MFC + Real cab

So this is what I have to work with - a Diezel D-Moll. AxeFX II, and my new MFC MKIII, plus a selection of real cabs.

The idea was to use the D-Moll as my preamp and poweramp, to use the Axe FX purely as an effects unit, and to switch both of them from the MFC. The D-Moll supports midi, so no problem there.

I want to get the smoothest changes on the Axe FX II, so it seems like scenes would be best approach. But I can't figure out how to send a scene change command to the Axe FX II, and have the Axe FX II send out a program change to my Diezel D-Moll.

The D-Moll does not support control changes, so that isn't a viable approach.

How best to do this?

Basically I want to have:
scene 1 + channel 1 on the D-Moll
scene 2 + channel 2 on the D-Moll
scene 3 + channel 3 on the D-Moll
scene 4 + channel 1 on the D-Moll
scene 5 + channel 2 on the D-Moll
scene 6 + channel 3 on the D-Moll

That sort of thing...

yes it can be done… I've just done it…

the MFC holds the config, but the MIDI must pass thru the Axe

MFC <-- ethernet --> Axe
Axe <-- MIDI out/thru --> other device

Axe config:
I/O: MIDI: MIDI THRU = ON

MFC config:
IA01 NONE <-- sect 12.4.7 in the manual]
IA02 NONE
IA01 c1 CC#34 Ch01 <-- sect 12.4.8 in the manual. CC34 = CC for scenes]
IA02 c1 CC#34 Ch01
IA01 c1 Off 000 On 000 <-- sect 12.4.9 in the manual. value 000 = scene1]
IA02 c1 Off 001 On 001 <-- value 001 = scene2]

x and y = are the preset numbers in the other device you want to change preset

other device is set to receive MIDI channel 2

I had scene1 in the Axe select preset 10 iand scene2 select preset preset 15 in my Digitech 2120

EDIT: in my config I was actually sending MIDI PGM change and two MIDI CC messages [one to switch scenes, the other to trigger a modifier] simultaneously..
