Signs of Life - Gilmour

Hey guys,

Trying to recreate the cleans from that song. Using Hiwatt-Brilliant. Guitar - Strat with DiMarzio Area pups. So far what I've got isn't quite cutting it for me. It is kind of narrow sounding - not glassy enough and the lows are distorting. I know for a fact this is an extremely elusive sound to match, but if anyone has gotten any close to it, I'd love to hear your suggestions. The goal is primarily to make the sound more open, juicy, and achieve that top end clarity.

Look at it as a credit to Gilmour that nobody even wants to try. I think I read at one point the engineer saying the key was the compression on that one. If you haven't already looked, Gilmourish is usually a good place to start. Maybe his active pickups are part of it.
