Shutting down power with external supply vs onboard switch

I have the FM9 connected to a Temple power switch. Is there any problem if I leave the FM9's power switch on and shut down power to the FM9 using the Temple switch instead?

I've been doing that for nearly 10 years with my Axe-Fx II plugged into an Art Pro PB4x4.

Does this mean they are capable of sexual reproduction? The second FM9 would pay for itself many times over.
