Shunting a preset for an acoustic guitar?

If i take a preset, and it has an input one block and a output one block, and nothing but shunts between. Would this be a good way to record with an acoustic guitar?

Sure, you wouldn’t even need shunts, just put them next to each other and join them.

Yes. But how can you resist adding some sauce on the way through? A little compression and chorus at least.

If you want to record the direct guitar signal, just use USB Inputs 5&6 to capture the signal right at the input. Nothing on the grid is required.

Last time I was in a studio we decided to add a last minute acoustic part. The engineer was trying to decide which preamp plugin he wanted to run the direct guitar through, and I told him I could dial up something quick and dirty with my Axe-Fx. He'd been impressed with my electric presets earlier in the day, so he said to give it a try. I built a simple Input -> Tube Pre amp block -> Output preset and he was happy with that. He was able to do any additional fine tuning on the console.

+1. I got a Martin pack a few years ago and iirc they updated their methods since then.
