Series/parallel question

I had a wah block first then two drives in a row all in series, the next block was a delay in parallel. So the drive before the delay was suffering a volume drop. I changed the delay to series and it rectified the problem. Any insight into that? Also most of my delay block types make a horrible distorted sound, only a couple work properly. Any help is appriciated

If you can post the preset, it would be very helpful in tracing the issue.

Attached is the preset. You will notice if you turn on drive1 in slot 2 then shut it off and turn on drive2 in slot 3 there is a volume drop even though drive2 is set louder. If you take slot 4 and put it in series the drive in slot 3 acts like it should. Also I was getting nasty clipping with the delay blocks on anything other then mono tape. Any help is appreciated.
