I keep forgetting to revisit this thread.... what about using a momentary switch to send the delay into self-oscillating\feedback? Just need to figure out how to ramp up the feedback mix with the momentary switch

If you use an external controller and tie an IA to the controller, you can set a damp rate for the change. So turn the IA on and the feedback changes, damped, at some rate. Turn it off and it changes in the opposite direction. The only caveat is the damping is the same in the forward and reverse direction.

It would be REALLY cool to be able to set a ramp and decay damp rate so you could have feedback come on slowly but turn off quickly...hmm...
