Fixed S/PDIF Audio Distortion

I'm running the S/PDIF out into a Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 into Logic and some tracks are terribly distorted.

USB audio is also currently distorted on recording, too. There's another thread about that and it seems pretty widespread.

I'm glad I saw this. I almost bought a third party interface to use S/PDIF to solve my USB audio issues.

I know this the FM3 forum but I just found today that my Axe Fx III has some degree of distortion/fizz going into S/PDIF. Just updated to Fw 12.12, can't remember hearing with the previous Fw rev. Didn't check for USB or analog out...

I'm not the OP but can verify that I am now able to use S/PDIF into the 8i6 I bought to get around the USB audio issues. I wasn't able to before 1.06b because of audio glitches.

Do I have to always change the clock source when powering my FM3 on or off?

Yes, because the Scarlett will be expecting to receive Clock from the FM3. If the FM3's not on the Scarlett will not be synced to any source...

Yeah, yesterday I read an official answer from Focusrite regarding this behavior. I upgraded from a 4i4 to 8i6 to have more routing options but this clock source thing is quite the hassle.
I will contact Focusrite on the matter and see if I can maybe write my own software to solve the matter.
