News from Alex's Big Fat Mouth:
"I’ve always included Fractal in my array of live gear ever since I first used one of their units nearly 20 years ago. We’re working closely together for the tour and I absolutely love the AXE III and FM9 systems. I’m looking to be streamlined as much as possible so I can carry all my stage gear in a shoulder bag like the good old days when I actually didn’t have much in there. Maybe just my lunch."
Saw that!
Not sure if this has been noticed, but I found this yesterday by chance.
"Distant Early Warning" remixed by Terry Brown.
It's different, but good. The guitar is much more prominent, synths more subdued, less 80's glassiness and warmer, as if the track is from "Signals."

). Nonetheless, I'd be curious to see a more improvisational approach for another generation of potential fans.I liked the keyboards (mainly Oberheim and Moog) from the get-go on Moving Pictures, but I was mad at Signals for not being Moving Pictures II when it was released. Over time I realized the Signals synth sounds were also really good (from mostly the same instruments). The synth sounds from GUP turned cold, and while it suited that one album, they lost me in all the digital keys smothering Power Windows and especially Hold Your Fire. I effectively boycotted Rush albums until Counterparts came out.Strangely, when Rush's "keyboard" period came around, I was bummed as a long time Rush Rocker, but now, after having made peace with that middle Rush period and actually having grown to like it, I find this remix lacks the synth/keyboard prominence I expect to be there.
Hear ya. How dare they disappoint my desire for more and more H+PW+MP (and earlier) creative prog tones and arrangements!I liked the keyboards (mainly Oberheim and Moog) from the get-go on Moving Pictures, but I was mad at Signals for not being Moving Pictures II when it was released.
