Hasn't exactly been out of the public eye. He just had a TV show that ran on FX for a few years that he won and Emmy for and has had a Vegas residency for several years that had done well.

Another hometown guy gone. Minnesota lost Scott Hansen last year (probably more locally known than anywhere else, but big part of the MN comedy scene). Now Louie. Sad day for sure.
