So i got my Axe-Fx maybe two or three months ago, From a fellow member now i dont like to post reviews until i feel im comfrotable with a item, Of course a amp usually takes a week or two to get to know pretty well espically when you play way to damn much like I do  . Anyways the Axe was a different story it took this time to get to the point of me getting the sound in my head.
The Axe Fx can be made to sound very bad quiet easily...
But i think since 9.02 you can actully get a pretty good sound with just a amp simple amp block, im planning on recording with it but 99% of the time im using it for live, After hearing SamHills videos i decided to go with the art-sla 2 and at first it was quite a challenge getting rig of that solid state high end, But after reading countless thread's especially the whole "Countour your sound" Thread which i have to say there is 2 PEQ In every single one of my chains, Simply because with the Art or any SS PA for that matter theres more of a balancing act then with Tube PA's, A SS PA doesnt sit as well in a mix live and you find yourseld either being to loud or to quiet, (And its not a lack of mids or to much gain because i use lots and lots of mids) Its just something in the high end,But once you spend some time with it you can dial it out, Ive yet to try the Axe with a Tube PA, and i plan to try out a VHT in the near future, But i couldnt imagine it getting much better!
My sound is the best its every been and ive owned, A Mark IV, XTC, Shiva, Jcm 800 & 2000 and some others i cant think of. So i Have tube counterparts to compare it to. Also my other guitarist has some tube amps that i tweak side to side with the AxeFx and im pretty blown away of how accurate the axe is, 40-60 Hours of tweaking in and tonal heaven: 2 compressors 1 on each amp: Brown and Hi-watt amp sims, With 2 PEQ's Im in love :D

Looks awesome. It's pretty much the EXACT setup I'm looking to get. How do you find the Port City? Is that an OS 2x12 or a 4x12?

thanks!

Its a Standard 4x12, Ive never liked oversized cabs, It destorys any other cab, it sounds massive, 3D, and non-directional at all, The only cab that i can put my ear to the speaker and still sounds good lol, Ive owned, Bogner Cabs, Marshall vintage cabs, mesa cabs and orange cabs and i prefer the port citys by far :D

Ok, now I need to hear what you consider "My sound is the best its every been" sound... could you share your patch!?!?

I really dont know how to upload patches, But maybe i can post up some screen shots if i can figure out how to do that lol.

If anyones intreasted in the patch

1st
Compressor: Type: Pedal ,Detect type: Peak , Sustian: 4.02 , Attack: 4.06
Release: 5.67, Auto On: 0.504

2nd : Amp: Brown Model , Drive: 5.59 , Boost: Off , Bass: 1.50 , Mid: 8.98
Treb: 2.87 , Bright: Off , Pres: -4.25 ,Master: 8.82 , Level: 2.50

3rd : Delay:
tempo: Tap Feedback: 4.3 Mix: 4.8

4th EQ:
"Blocking"
Freq 1: 129hz Q1: 1.039 Gain 1: -7.46

"Blocking"
Freq 5: 2112hz Q5: 0.919 Gain 5 -12.00db

Freq 2: 530hz , Q2: 0.752 , Gain 2: 1.51dB
Freq 4: 1602hz , Q4: 0.707 , Gain 4: 1.04 dB
Freq 3: 804hz , Q3: 0.707 ,Gain 3: 0.00 dB

Then the second signal chain is:
1st: Compressor: Pedal, Detect: RMS
Sustain: 5.21, Attack: 5.00, Release:5.67 , Mix:100
Look-Ahead:0.504

2nd: Amp: HIPower 1 , Drive: 5.79, Boost:eek:ff, Bass: 2.32
Mid:8.19, Treb:3.31, Bright: On, Pres: 1.10,
Master: 7.01, Level: - 12.00dB

3rd: PEQ:
"Blocking"
Freq 1: 118hz, Q1: 0.570, Gain 1: 2.93dB,
"Blocking"
Freq 5: 2874hz, Q5: 0.412, Gain 5: -4.91 dB

Freq2: 484hz, Q2: 0.665, Gain 2: 2.74dB
Freq 4: 1602hz, Q4: 0.707, Gain 4: 0.00dB
Freq 4: 804hz, Q3: 0.707, Gain 3: 0.00 dB

So the second chain cable from the PEQ goes into the delay block in the first chain.
Note: Im using very low output single coils.
