Reliable Means of Leveling Scene Volume

Hi AM4 Tribe:

The learning curve is steep, but I've been enjoying the climb. I have encountered another problem to which I can't find a solution: What is the most reliable way to keep the volume consistent between scenes? I am using the AM4 both as a standalone pedalboard (bypassing the amp block) as well as with the amp block, so the question is a two-parter_since I assume that using the amp block requires a different mode of controlling volume.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just a tip I wanted to share: whenever I want to balance anything, I run the free (windows) Ulean Loudness meter in a window off to the side and I just let that thing run on. It takes a bit to figure out what fields are meaningful to you, but once you know, it's a breeze to use and a quick glance is all you need. Since it keeps a running graph of levels, you don't need to quickly read a digital readout before it changes.

Great help for levelling

Yeah I should have mentioned that I found this page in the manual really confusing. But thank you!
Home -> main levels

Switch between your amp channels and/or scenes and keep them about the same on the db meter. On this page you can also set scene and preset level but for me, amp level is enough to do the trick.

Home -> mix routing

Use to check block levels to see if you are clipping.

Just strum your loudest chord to see where you fall on the db meter and adjust these to your needs.

As far as leveling between scenes also note this has been a challenge with all modelers as it cannot be done with just a meter, since the human ear perceives volume differently based on frequency. The point is a meter can get you in the ballpark but you need to use your ears and level at gig volume. Read up on Fletcher Munsen Curve.
