Rack Case vs. Rack Bag

I'm struggling through the best vehicle for my use cases and was hoping to get some suggestions. Unfortunately I don't think there is a one-size fits all. I've owned 4 different styles for my Axe and I've gone with different configs in terms of rack spaces. I started with a 3u Gator short rack. Loved it for the thin/tight profile. Did not like the fact the back stuck out though. It meant I couldn't really use and amp stand with the back resting on the bottom. Went to a customer 3u Marshall Head rack that I also put a Matrix 1u amp into. That looked awesome sitting on my bass cab but too long to sit on a guitar cab and 95% of the time, I play guitar direct with no amp/cab. I then went to a Roadrunner 2u rack bag. Loved the portability and it was long enough but didn't like the hanging flaps and dealing with them on a stand. I pulled out the amp so I keep them separate. Now I'm back to a 2u Gator shallow rack. Again, like it's compact nature but I need a shelf for it as I can't put it on an amp stand without the stand arms making direct contact to the Axe II +. Is that bad? Not sure.

I think where I might be leaning now is the Gator 2U rack bag, particularly if i can fit the MFC-101 in the top compartment. If I can save a bag and combine it all, that might be worth the weight. I just do local gigging. Not shipping this stuff around and I can pack it to protect it in my vehicle when I'm driving it around. Is the Gator 2U bag the way to go or are there some other bags or cases I should be looking at?

An axe all in one bag with mfc would weight an obscene amount. I bet at axe and Mfc would fit in the roadrunner 4u porter bag. It has a luggage handle and wheels

I ended up rediscovering a QuikLok stand in my stash that will work. It's this one...it can be positioned slightly off for the back of the gator rack to sit on bottom and have access to the ports I need...and the front facing up. Probably wouldn't work for someone who's using a lot of ins and outs because the bars might be in the way.

There's a lot of dead space in the flap flush with the top of the box of the gator backpack case but the zipper system somewhat inhibits insertion...I couldn't fit my GCP in there and hence sold up and got an LF+ JR+. It fits snug and there's room for a control pedal or two also. Lately I've been thinking about changing to an MFC 101 - but I have the same question. Will it fit in the Gator backpack case? 15.75" x 10" x 3"...I'm guessing not...but I reckon it'd be really close and I'd probably do a bit of an alteration job on the rack case just to get it in there.

I went from a 6u abs rack to a gator 2u studio2go rack bag (the one with computer space) and am happy.
Maybe you can fit the mfc in a 4u rack bag.
I use a little keyboard stand for it so I'm no help here sadly.
The only issue in every solution is weight, thought it's not some amp weight, but I often break my back emptying the car :(

I use a Gator 3u rack bag and a rolling laptop computer bag for the MFC. I think the computer case is a Targus. It holds the MFC, wires pedals etc. Did I mention it rolls? Saves me from carrying it. Works great for me.

I have the Gator 3U Rack Bag. There's no way an MFC will fit into the zippered front compartment. I just put my MFC and cables in a normal backpack so I could carry the rack, my guitar, and MFC + cables all in one trip.
