Quick Vid: Atomic MB-50 into 4x12 Cab, with Axe-Fx Ultra

Tom King

Experienced
Stopped by a great local studio yesterday, "Dexter's Lab," to demo the Atomic MB-50 and Axe-Fx to brothers Charlie and Nick Bellmore. Hooked up to Charlie's 4x12 and then he and brother Nick shaped the tone with reference to the setup of their bandmate Kirk W: M-Zone, Das Metall, PEQ, and a little Chorus.

Everyone was impressed with both the Axe-Fx and the quality and output level of the MB-50 (volume and presence both near 2 o'clock... Only one person in the room ended up not wearing earplugs during this recording.)

You can catch these guys at Ozz Fest 2010. More info here: http://twitter.com/charliebellmore

he had his level pretty jacked up there on his axe-fx at about 4 o'clock. Does that make any difference in what the atomic sounds like? Just curious if there's a reason it's set that high. Sounded really good

Doesn't really matter. The level on the Atomic was at 2:00 if that so there was still a fair amount of gas left in the tank.

Damn; that's some downtuned RAWK!!

Sounds great!
Scott, I'm just remembering that you were a pioneer of the earliest of MB-50s. You were telling me one day that you sub'd a Hughes & Kettner power section for an old Reactor 112-50s in an little experiment you were doing.
