Quick question: is this possible?

I'm a long time user of an Ultra, and recently I bought another one (second hand) as back up.
Yesterday I was going to try it, but, when I plugged it in the output of the unit is unaffected by any block. The input gain pot works, but anything I put in the grid does nothing.
Even more, if I "cut" the grid path, there's still output! I hear the bare guitar, but I shouldn't, cause the path in the grid is cut.

As far as I know, this isn't possible with the normal behavior of the unit (I never experienced this with my Ultra).
Could some one tell me if there's a special mode that I don't know which sets the whole unit to bypass?

If not, I will assume the unit is wrong...

Thank you for your help.

Bypass button activates/deactivates the block currently selected.
The blocks in this unit do nothing, and as I said, even "cutting" the grid path does nothing, the sound still comes out (unaffected).

What do you mean exactly, Bakerman? There's a global bypass in the Axe? Thank you for your reply.

I'll try this evening.
After all these years using the ultra in advanced ways, I didn't know there was a grid bypass. Embarrassing.
Thanks guys.
