Question: USB DI, or Interface?

Hi Folks,

I've been trucking along going about matters rather simplistically with my A2, and that's fine - I like simple.

I record direct to my MBP via the USB and my resident DAW software (Reaper). So far so good.

I've noticed now that things are getting a wee bit more "sonically dense" with what I'm moving around within my DAW; there was always a "slight" noticeable latency when recording my guitar>A2>MBP>DAW but I was able to work with it. Perhaps it's the same latency now with just an intolerance towards it; or things have slowed ever-so slightly more, and it bugs me.

Who out there is using an interface, what kinds (brands/models) are you using, and are they eliminating extraneous latency [more so than just USB DI]??

Please post and let me know, greatly appreciated, thank you.

If you got a mac you can use 2 interfaces. I'm on pc, so only 1 at a time.
It's amazing that this box can do interface very well.
But for complex track, synth plugins and more inputs, a good pc firewire interface is hard to beat.
I got a Focusrite and 2 presonus fp10's, I like the Focusrite best, rock solid
Reamping is easier also if you use the AX as your interface
