Question about using new fractal cabs

One thing I'm not clear about. If I mix cab ir files from fractal in cab lab do I need to convert them to ultrarez or is it already in that form? Thanks

You can choose the format with the global ir format buttons bottom left in CabLab:

Global IR Format

This determines whether Cab-Lab will output High Res or UltraRes(TM) IRs. This affects all operations in the main Cab-Lab window, including sending IRs to the scratchpad, saving to a user memory, or saving to disk.

Note: When you save an Ultra Res IR file to disk, two files are created: 1) a .syx file 2) an .ir file (for mixing in Cab-Lab).

So does that mean the .ir files are not ultrarez until after I mix and convert them? Thanks

.ir files (33.460 bytes) contain the UR information but can not be used with the Axe which needs the .syx format (10.904 bytes)
