It’s these little things which make life easier. This is why I don’t use push on knobs. On a Tele I align both volume and tone so that the screw head just goes out of sight on full. A lot of the time I play with the screw facing up, so about 60%, which gives me plenty of headroom if I need to turn up for a solo.

As for @FarleyUK’s original point. How often have you forgotten to turn off a wah pedal, or worse a Detune setting? I even have a line on my set list which says “TURN OFF DETUNE”
