Hey,
Wanted to get some thoughts on signal chain. I originally went out of my way to get everything running through S/PDIF cables:
Axe Ultra [S/PDIF] > MBox2 Pro [S/PDIF] > BMC-2 (TC-Electronics attenuator) [S/PDIF] > Tannoy Digital Speakers
I've since read that Cliff doesn't think much of S/PDIF and recommends staying with a good XLR cable chain. Since I still need a pre-amp, I still need to go into the MBoxPro to capture the signal for PT (via Firewire); however, because I'm sending my signal as S/PDIF from the MBoxPro to the BMC-2 and then out to the pair of Tannoy's, should I still stick with S/PDIF from the Axe?
Hope that made sense.
Thanks,
ACV
