Am I missing something? Why no Pro Reverb? Is it because it's just a higher powered Princeton etc?

Basically a super reverb with a 2x12 cab and no middle control. Set the mid to 7 with a blackface tonestack and you'll essentially have a pro reverb.

Why 7?

To get the mids pot set to the value of the fixed mids resistor. The 2-knob Treble/Bass stack for BF amps had a 6k8 resistor (except the Champ, which had 15k).

Those 68 custom reissues are cool, but certainly not a 'reissue'. Used a custom deluxe for some gigs, and it did well, but the vibrolux version barely sounds like a legitimate fender. Also, enjoy your posts, especially regarding the ir vs amp thing, haha.

I had the '68 Deluxe Reverb... briefly. Didn't jive with it, and
actually kind of lust for the discontinued Vibrolux. Maybe I
should check that lust.

I honestly think that was the worst amp from that series. At least when compared to an early silverface vibrolux. I honestly don't crave actual amps anymore, which is probably a good thing. Haha.

Oddly enough, recreating a Pro Reverb-esque tone with a Fractal unit is the perfect place to consider
pairing one of the Fender amps in the amp block (Super to get the closest) with a nice 2 x 12 Jensen
based semi-open back IR.
