Practice Chair

Anyone have any experience with this chair, from Quiklok? It’s sold on Amazon and the reviews are good.

I bought one of these maybe ~12 years ago thinking it would be good for coffehouse gigs. Meaning anything from playing with friends at the backyard BBQ to the, by then rare, actual coffehouse gig. It's not as portable as you might think by looking at it.

What killed it for me is the seat, backrest, and footrest on one angled post. As you raised the seat it not only went up but back, so the footrest was further away. The back rest was the same, and probably worse because as you moved it up it forced you to lean back.

I got this Hinomi H1 Pro chair back in November for the simple fact that the armrests fold up so I can play guitar comfortably in an actual office chair. My previous chair was a Herman Miller Aeron for 7+ years. The footrest is a bonus for those afternoon naps https://www.hinomi.co/products/hinomi-h1-pro-ergonomic-office-chair
Aeron user here for many years. Once I get the settings right I can sit in an Aeron all day without complaint other than I like to have a headrest. I bought an Atlas headrest to remedy that.

I just wish the Aeron had removable or swing away armrests so this looks good.

Yes, I loved using the Aeron chair but it was a pain when I would play guitar. I even tried to remove the armrest but it was almost impossible without permanently damaging it.

I have this one for 10yrs.

And I have this one for 2 yrs.

The Lazy Boy is more comfortable if you want something with wheels, and the arms flip up which is the best feature. The Lazy Boy is not real leather, so expect the vinyl will look like it got shredded by a feral cat after about 5 yrs. Then again it might be a good match with your favorite relic guitar.

I have an office chair that has arms which can be raised out of the way or I use a drum throne (mainly for classical).

I think I need this chair just for the power napping.

Swopper is definitely a cool stool - but the price puts me off, as it is about > 600,- €.
But what i can recommend and have bought twice (first for home/guitar playing, and later on for office) are
the standing-stools from Koenig & Meyer.
I`ve got for myself the "14047 Pneumatic stool".

There are different configurations and variants available - and when it comes to quality, this manufacturer is absolutely on top level.
Check it out :)

.... and maybe somewhere in time i will get a Swopper ( if i get a 50% discount ) ;-)

What size did you get?

I'm right at 5'10" so at the top limit of the Standard and bottom limit of the Extra-High. The reviews I watched on YT don't really get into the size being reviewed or the size of the reviewer.

My studio/office is very multipurpose and gets smaller all the time. ;) It would be great to have just one chair in there!

I ended up getting the Hinomi X1 and absolutely love it, although no flip up arm rests. ALMOST got the H1 Pro (and probably should have) but jeez I love this chair. Still using my drum stool for playing. Lol.

Thanks, just grabbed the Standard in black.
Ordered the Hinomi H1 Pro V2 Tuesday afternoon, got it Thursday end of day.

I was super busy Friday so I waited until today to tackle unboxing and assembling it. What I thought was going to be a project turned into a very easy 10-15 minute build first thing this morning. I love that it folds down to fit under the desk if I need to get it out of the way.

So far I'm very impressed with this chair. 👍 Comfortable, full features, easy adjustments, quality materials and construction.

That looks interesting. How much do you sink into the chair when sitting in it? I've tried some chairs where the lower edge of the body of the guitar strikes the frame of the chair next to the seat.
