How does one mod an amp to keep a lot of power amp distortion, but not to compress badly at high gain settings?
I love love love the clean channel of the Archon. It has such great cleans, and I love the tone with the gain and MV dimed, but also the amp compresses in this particular way that gets in the way of what I'm playing, so I'll inevitably dial back the MV and use a pedal instead. Would there be any way to dime the gain and MV on the Archean Clean and mod advanced parameters for the power amp not to squish so extremely?
I know this is what the Archon would do in the real world, but I'm thinking what I learn about this could help me a lot in modding other amps, like the Tweeds.
