I've been using Google SketchUp to create a layout for the tile work I am doing around the house. SketchUp is a powerful free 3D cad program.
So last night I was checking out the SketchUp component libraries and found some ready to use 3D models of a SOT-23 transistor and various sizes of SMT caps and resistors. I then got the idea to see if it was possible to build a fuzz face circuit using these, but with no PCB, entirely point-to-point. Was much easier than I thought. Check it out:
I am tempted to try my hand at building this for real.
