Man - I didn't realize how much of a difference there was until I went back to a few units for the first time after having my Axe 2 for about two months. Not surprisingly, the 11R came out distinctly ahead of other units, but it still wasn't close to the Axe. I can't decide what to do with the 11R. If I get the Axe working well as an audio interface for Reaper, I may let the 11R go as well. It would make an ok backup unit or a unit to use when my Axe is setup somewhere else.
The GP10 modelling sounds pretty sterile to the Axe, but I bought it primarily for its analog-like synth tones. Running the regular output of my GK-equipped guitar to the Axe and the GK out to the GP10 (set for some analogish sounding pads with a fairly quick attack) creates an incredible wall of sound.
I should have just bought a unit so many years ago and saved myself the frustrating (and ultimately more expensive process) of gradually getting the Axe FX.
