Plain Ole Volume Pedal Setup EB

All,

New Ultra owner (6.10) and I'm simply trying setup an Ernie Ball Volume pedal as described in the owners manual. Pedal 1 on axe to EB, input volume or output 1 volume (I tried both) in I/O set to pedal 1. It does work but the volume with the pedal all the way down is at maybe 50-60%. I've tried the pedal 1 calibrate but no change. Setting the input or output volume back to none and turning the unit off/on is then the only way I can get the original volume level back.

I found several posts with folks trying to use these as expression pedals but nothing about just using them as volume pedals. Perhaps I still need to use the insert cable or add a volume block to my patches?

Sorry if this has been covered before and thanks for any help.
 
I've got 2 EB's I use Y cables with but I run them
to a midi pedal. They both work perfect this way
for me. Smooth travel from heel to toe.
 
EB's are actually volume pedals not cc pedals.
Use a stereo Y cable, insert ring to the input
of the EB and the tip into the output of the EB.
Go to I/O menu, CNTL tab. Hit enter on out1 vol,
then rock your pedal. Do the same thing to out
put vol 2 if you want to control both outputs.
 
I'm in the process of hooking up my EB to my GCP then on to the Axe to be used as Vol pedal. If anyone has already done this and has tips, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll hopefully find the process in the Axe and GCP manuals. thx, t
