PaintAudio MIDI Captain

I just ordered it. I've been thinking about different options for several months now. It will be my first midi controller, so I have no previous experience, but it seems to be a ready-made thing for FM3. Also, it's not too expensive for my budget. Why didn't I buy, for example, the FC-6? Because I want to use other devices with midi than just Fractal devices.

The Midi Captain works well with the FM3 and has a lot of useful functionality. It's not the easiest thing in the world to program with it's text based programming language, but once you've got the hang of it it's not too big a problem.

The BIG advantage witht the FC6 is the very powerful Layout and View link functionalty which allows you to use the OMG9 layout (or some variant of this). This is great for gigging on the FM3. Press one footswitch and the FC6 has up to 9 presets ready to select (I only use 6 so it's all on the FC6 without needing to toggle using the hold function - dangerous when gigging!! ). Press the next footswitch and you have scenes within the selected preset. Press the next footswich and you have effects in that preset you can turn on and off (or change from low gain to hi gain etc)

Here is the MIDICaptain10 -FM3MKIITurbo, program, I wrote this for my own taste. Everyone can use it at their own risk. v5.x is bidirectional, both MIDI cables are required. Read the description. V
v4.x is only a one-way controller. Since I can't insert a link or file here, I'll send the link to anyone who's interested.

Thanks for that - is this the Pyswitch program the Kemper guys use? I assume you need two midi cables because the FM3/9 don't support 2-way Midi over USB as the Kemper does? Please send me the link thanks for your help

No, this is not pyswitch, I made this for myself, it won't work with FM3 like the kemper, it doesn't send messages by itself, only PC bpm and clock, everything has to be queried with sysex code. I worked on it from scratch for about 12 days, 2 hours a day. Read the description. The latest version 5.7 is in the noexp directory
