One of the Most Influential Moments

At about 14 I saw Jimi Hendrix play the Star Spangled Banner on TV at Woodstock and from that moment on I wanted to play guitar. In 1978 I saw Rush play a small venue here in the UK. It was a cold February night with snow on the ground and we made the trip out to the gig by train not knowing quite what to expect. The crowd was absolutely pumped that night as this was only there second short visit to the UK. Geddy Lee introduced a song called Xanadu, I swear when they went into the main riff after Alex's dry ice intro section the roof came off that place, 2000 fans went absolutely nuts. Never forgotten it, it still even now makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Happy days!

P.S As I wrote this I just checked on the exact date of that gig, it was exactly 24 years to the day. Spooky or what?!
