Nylon String Fingerstyle Parlor Guitar

Here is another recording of my Nylon String Godin going into the AxeFX Deluxe Verb FW 18.6, but this time I have turned the Tremolo down to 25% and I have the Sun Plate Reverb on this one.

I think the Nylon String Fingerstyle approach brings out some VERY cool dynamics of the AxeFX amps that you don't hear in most playing. Interested if you agree!

Just me and my Godin, sitting in the parlor this evening. One take recording, so you get flubs and all, but I think it sounds more natural that way and this style is all about natural. Listen to the fingers on the strings, that's what I'm talking about. I love my AxeFX!!!

I was surprised to hear hair in the preset, since it is a preset for a nylon string. That's not always a bad thing and there could be some very interesting and unusual sounding applications for this kind of guitar/preset, but my honest first impression is that it struck me as an unusual preset to match along with a guitar that has the Godin's characteristics. Nylon strings and overdrive for me are mutually exclusive. But who is to say, it could work for blues...Steve Morse once advised that when playing slide guitar, overdrive should never be used. If Jimmy Page followed that advice, we'd never have "When The Levee Breaks".

Right on Eric. What's funny is the break up is exactly what I love about the sound, Haha! It's a gut string guitar right into an old Fender with some early breakup. I think it sounds so Gritty Delta Blues that I can't get enough!

Try this one on for size, it's a more simple delta blues piece and might be a bit more cohesive: https://soundcloud.com/mannyfu/given-the-devil-his-due
