NGD: Tom Anderson Drop Top

A guitar is a beautiful way to remember a loved one. Playing guitar is a source of true joy. I hope that this one brings you many years of happy playing.

Nice choice of specifications. That guitar looks like an absolute ripper. My favorite guitar has the H1- and H2+ pickups as well. I have thought about changing out the H1- for an H1 because the H1- needs a bit of help getting those liquid sounding Petrucci style lead tones, but I can't bring myself to mess with it because the guitar is just so good as it stands.

The H2+ is a phenomenal sounding bridge pickup. I actually just ordered another one (less that five minutes ago) because I like it so much. The HC2+ on my most recent Anderson is so warm sounding that it makes for too drastic of a contrast with the VA7 pickups that are in the neck and middle. I'm pretty sure that the H2+ will balance out that guitar.

I see that you chose the in-distress neck back finish. I've never tried one with that option. It doesn't look like a traditional relic job from what I see in your photos. How does that neck finish differ from the standard satin neck back finish?

Thanks OZ,
Yes, the H1- and the H2+ pickups. I commend you for being able to just look at them and correctly identify them(!).
I had never tried the in-distress neck back either, but I took a chance on it. I didn't want it looking relic'd; I just wanted it unfinished and that's how that option is listed thru the order form. The guy at the Guitar Sanctuary said the exact same thing you did about it not looking like a traditional relic job. My other Anderson has the satin neck finish and there is a difference between the two. I would describe the in-distress as just feeling "unfinished or raw." I like both and I'm glad I ordered this one slightly different.

Awesome, 11-22-03p is my custom one i had made. might throw her a birthday party this year, she'll be 22. Tom is an amazing person, and all of his stuff is beyond expectations. Enjoy your guitar! oh.. H2+ is the sh*t. one of if not my favorite pickup.

I used the Anderson website to lookup the specifications using the serial number search function. I knew they were either H or HN series pickups from the appearance, but beyond that I couldn't tell without the website.

You shouldn't have said anything because you had me fooled, haha. I didn't think about you looking up the serial number
Wow what a beauty you got there! Anderson is top notch
Thank you, sir!
