NGD Strat

I've hunted high and low for a hard tail Strat, but alas, I couldn't find one for a reasonable price. One company quoted me £75 MORE to route one less cavity! *sigh*

In the end, I scoured Gumtree UK and found a chap selling a Strat with a MightyMite neck, with locking tuners and Lace Sensor Golds with CTS pots, for a grand total of...........

£400 with £18 next day shipping.

It's a 9-12" compound radius, which suits me for bends. Going to order a tremel no system too. Does anyone know how to relic a Strat?

It arrives tomorrow and the wait is killing me.

Here are some photos of this sucker.

She's a beauty. I know you'll be very happy with it. I'm a sucker for Strats.

Unless it's got a nitro finish I'd think twice about any relic attempts. Polyurethane finishes don't wear at all like the old nitro. I've seen a lot of guitars ruined by attempts to artificial age them.

If the seller didn't specifically describe it as nitro, it's 99% polyurethane. Most Strats made since the mid-1960s or so have been polyurethane finished. Only exceptions nowadays are specific models, such as Custom Shop, Eric Johnson and Road Worn models.
