Newbie USB cable question

USB A type connector on one end, USB B type on another (Axe Fx end). To be honest I have no idea why they went with the uncommon USB B on the unit when most people have tons of regular USB cables lying around.

It's the one with the B connector, square shaped like are used in printers and scanners. I think the one I am using was from my old printer.

It is a "common" USB cable, the kind typically used to connect to a printer from a PC. The other common type (today) has a "mini" jack on the other end - as in cell phone charging.

I'm not sure why you believe Type A/B is uncommon.

Many hard drives and other units now use the A to Mini connectors, not the used-to-be-more-normal A to B.

Most printer and audio gear needs the A-B, just like the axe.

If I remember correctly, the maximum length is 3 meters (9.8 feet).

You can use USB repeater cable if you need to go longer.
