newbie setups...

Hi, I just got the axe 2 and have been messing around with it for about a month.
I have some questions to using different kinds of speakers.
I have been using 2 Roland cube 30x via the audio/input that doesn’t use the modeling but only the speaker. My thinking was these speaker are more geared towards amp modeling and would have a more flat response. They are 2 12inch speakers.
I use the cab and power amp sim on the AXE. Sounds decent but I wonder if other combos might get more out of the AXE. I really play more at a bedroom level then a concert level…
I also have some other choices. I have numerous Amps.
1. Vox ac30 with blue speakers
2. Peavey 30 classic with blue type speakers.
3. Carvin power amp dcm 150
4. 3 way full range speakers Yamaha, these are kinda stereo speakers that are full range. I have used with the carvin before in a rockman modular setup…
5. 2 cube 30x’s
6. 2 Vox vt’s
I play all types of music and have a lot of interest.
I figured for my u2 setup I could try the AXE 2 direct into the Vox’s normal channel.
But I would prefer to not have to switch around cabs etc…
I also play metal and hard rock, so I want to use the AMPs and Cabs in the AXE…Sounds decent over the cubes 30x speakers
So my question is what is the best setup?
Thanks T

I've tried amps with effects loop 4cm
Power amps both tube and solid state, with guitar cabs
And the atomic cabs

I still prefer the atomic fr cabs.
Very flat response and it allows me to create a very similar tone when going direct to the house at a gig FOH
When i used a amp/cab my tone ended up being very different live.
