New user's impressions - some weird choices made by Fractal?

Thank you everybody for your help, opinions and points of view. This is going to be a long road!
The factory presets are great examples of how to set up layouts and use various parameters. The "Factory presets" page in the Wiki helps because you can search the page for a particular block and see how Fractal uses it, and then store it in the block library on your computer to reuse and/or experiment with it.

Coming from Helixville I did find some of the default choices took a moment to navigate, and I do admit missing the ability to touch a footswitch and jump right to editing parameters for that effect. But that convenience is overshadowed by how immensely powerful and customizable the footswitches are on the FM9, and the sound quality is in its own sphere!

Similar to your other thread about customizing the tap/hold functions to have one switch do multiple things, @Fretts if you wanted to completely build a new set of layouts so that all 9 switches bend to your will, you can absolutely do that! Nothing is set in stone, this machine is the gift that keeps on giving and will continue to inspire and amaze you as you delve deeper. That first time you lose several hours to satisfaction of working your newly created preset and custom footswitch layout - you'll be grateful you made this choice and that there is a wealth of knowledge to draw from
