New toy inbound and I’m stoked ! RME Fireface UCX II

I’ve had two MOTU Track16’s for years now (I guess like 13 years ? Time flies). They’ve been great but figured it was upgrade time. I also got the RME ARC USB remote.

So bring on the RME Fireface UCX II and the ARC USB remote !
I’m sure the learning curve will be fun :)

Anyone else rocking one of these ?

I do. RME sound is incredible. Totalmixfx can be overwhelming at first but its power is second to none. I have the sonarworks room correction file imported on my main outs, running AES to my monitors.

It gets here Saturday and it’s supposed to be rainy all day here then. So that’s a GOOD thing !!

All installed and working ! Crystal clear sounds and now I’m SPDIF to my AxeFx3.

TotalMix is VERY easy to get lost in but for now I have it in DAW mode so it’s quite dumbed down until I figure out what the hell im doing :)

Congrats! My original Fireface UFX has been rock solid since I got it almost a decade ago. Recently, my Octamic D from 2004 malfunctioned and RME was able to get it repaired and back in my studio in three weeks and at a very reasonable cost. I wasn't expecting them to service a 21-year old digital unit but apparently they have a stack of old parts machines they scavenge to repair the legacy stuff. It's nice knowing that if you run into trouble that RME has your back.

That’s freaking amazing !

Now that I’ve had it for a few days I must say there was a huge surprise on terms of how it sounds. I came from a MOTU set up which I thought was good - but this one really surprised me in terms of quality of sound..always hard to describe sound.

A few years ago I updated to Focal Shape 65’s from my venerable and well loved Equators and was truly blown away. This upgrade to the RME wasn’t nearly as “holy shit !’ but it sounds truly incredible. The RME and the AxeFx 3 are a match made in heaven.

I've been using an RME UFX for several years at this point. It is absolutely solid and the converters are best in class. Totalmix is also a huge asset, as mentioned, a bit of a learning curve, but once you wrap your head around it, you'll be questioning how you ever lived without it. Congrats on the upgrade!
