My plan is to use a JBLPRX712 to build my sounds... I have a full JBL PRX system for the band.
I will eventually go to in ears on stage

i'd say if you're using the JBL PRX sound system when you play live and you also have one as your guitar monitor, use that to program at first. Then you'll be sure to have the exact sound at FOH that you're hearing on stage. Once you get a handle on your sounds you can listen thru other speakers (i.e. your studio monitors) and assess the differences so you can program using your studio monitors.
