New Posts - What's the difference?

What is the difference between the "What's new" and "New posts" menu options in the New posts section of the forum? They appear to be the same/similar.

New is unread.

What’s new includes things you may have seen.

Wondering about it here too... Weird thing is that the two options do not return the same list if posts. Not very intuitive!

New posts tracks from your last visit, is posts only by default.

What's new is only semi-related to your last visit time. It fetches content from everything on a Xenforo site. We don't run a very complicated site though so that means it's just showing posts and profile posts. More complicated sites with media galleries, built-out buy/sell/trade sections, subscription content, etc. make more use of "What's new" than we do.
