New FX8 user + block question

Hi everybody,

Since this week I have a FX8 mk2.
I first bought an ax8.
But the ax8 had some hiss with my amps, I returned it and went for the FX8.
This time no hiss whatsoever.
Yesterday I used the FX8 for the first time at rehearsal and loved it.
(I do need to tweak the reverb more to get a nice surf reverb sound.
At the moment I can't seem to make it "drip". And secretly wishing for a 6G15 reverb algorithm)

One question about the effects blocks
I would like to copy a block setting from one preset to another preset.
Is this possible on the fx8 without the use of a computer?
I can't seem to find this in the manual.

Thanks!

Follow the instructions on Page 25 of the manual to load a preset. Once the "RECALL" page is visible, press the <PAGE> button. This will take you to the "EFFECT" screen. From here you can load any effect block to your current preset from any other preset on the unit.

So far I can retreive the fx settings from a block in a present.
But how do I paste these settings in another preset?
Probably very basic things that I am asking. But I can't seem to fine it.

Thanks again!

Ok, found it.
As I understand, you need to have the same block (effect) in both presets already inserted.
Retrieve does not copy the block, but only the settings. (is that correct?)

So this is how I tested it:

1. create two preset; Preset "target" -> this is the preset where I want to paste the settings from a block from another preset.
In this example I saved it at "M5"
2. create a preset "source" -> This preset contains the settings in a block that I want to copy.
In this example I saved it at "M6"
3. To test this I used the "Drive1" block
4. the function of the F1 switch on my fx8 = "Single Preset/bank"
5. select the "target" preset(already with the "drive1" block installed but without the settings that you want)
6. press the "F1" button ("Single Preset/bank")
7. press "page" button to go to the "effect" tab on the screen
8. in the upper left you can see "PRESET"
9. select the preset from where you want to copy the settings from a certain block from (in this case, preset "M6" the block is "drive1")
Turn the "NAV" knob to select "preset", then turn the "value" knob to select the preset you want to copy from.
10. Still in the same window; turn the "NAV" knob to go to "RETRIEVE"
11. Turn the "VALUE" knob to select the block of which you want to retrieve the settings from (in this case, "drive1")
12. press the "ENTER" button. You will get the message "EFFECT RETRIEVED" .
13. press the "F1" switch again (remember on my fx8 it's on "Single Preset/bank")
14. Check in the "target" preset if the settings are copied to the block.
15. you will also see that the "EDITED" led lights up on the FX8.
16. Save preset.

It's more difficult to write this than to do it. :)

Follow the instructions on Page 25 of the manual to load a preset. Once the "RECALL" page is visible, press the <PAGE> button. This will take you to the "EFFECT" screen. From here you can load any effect block to your current preset from any other preset on the unit.
Thanks Joe - This Forum is awesome. I was just looking for this in the manual as well.
