Sure it is. If you use samples you have to choose which ones and put them in.

There’s no good reason to use AI in any creative endeavour.

I think this is kind of what the Sim1 XT-1 pedal was supposed to achieve. In general, it replicated certain guitar sounds really well but was a massive pain in the arse to work with. The app was crap, the WiFi dongle supplied didn't connect properly to devices and the pedal was really laborious to navigate. Hoping Line 6 bring out another Variax at some point but, the more years that pass, the less hopeful I am that this will actually happen.
