Need tutorial for dialing in an acoustic patch (steel and nylon)

Lately I have been playing more and more acoustic guitar (comes with age, I guess), both nylon stringed and steel stringed. My patches for those guitars are OK sounding but far from being good. I don't know if anyone posted some kind of post before but what I get confused is the usage of PEQ and GEQ - lots of potential, I know. But all my patches lack the wood-ness and especially the g- and d-string sound very "electric" in the higher register, say from fret 9.
They also lack an overall warm quality. I'm always overwhelmed with the possibilities to dial in EQs.
