need help fast

My axe fx will be here wednesday but i have a amp here thats going to be returned friday and i would like to get some audio recorded to tone match later.
My question is if i record it from the fx loop send will i be able to select/change different cabinets in the axe once it is tone match.
I plan on running my axe fx to a mesa 395 sim to a real guitar cabinet.and p.a. monitors at times.
so being able to turn the cabinets on/off and changing them with my matched tone will be a plus.

I basically want to record just the amp no cabinet.then i can run it through whatever cabinet i have or so i can choose what cabinet i want when running through a p.a.?
Is this possible or does the axe fx use the cabinet block for the tone matching?
