Multiple Inputs

I have an Axe-Fx 2, I want to plug in my electric guitar and acoustic guitar at the same time. I don't want to use them simultaneously, I just don't want to unplug in between songs. Also I don't want to use a X/Y box. How do I need to set up the Axe-Fx to make this work. Thanks!

anything wrong with an x/y box ? Not judging your choice not to use it, but simply wondering if there is some sort of tangible negative to them I wasn't aware of.

That said, for your specific needs, I would think you could run your electric into the front input (L), and then run your acoustic through a preamp/DI type of unit and into the line level input on the back (R)

I think you'd then need to specific the input for each respective patch as either L or R and not L+R summed

If you are not using the FX loop, plug your acoustic guitar into input 2 left and set input 2 mode to Left only in the I/O menu AUDIO page. You can then use the FX loop block to insert your acoustic guitar signal into any presets you want. Don't forget to set the input level correctly for input 2 and your acoustic to avoid clipping or excess noise.

you can connect front input and input 1, you could also build a patch with 2 signal chains separated with mixers in first effect blocks to separate signal. both could be on at same time or one at a time with out patch change. I know there are some posts and you tube videos of this. I will link them if I can find any of them.http://forum.fractalaudio.com/axe-fx-ii-discussion/90203-multiple-guitar-inputs-axe.htmlhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuPAbAlvnI4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSF388pA4vM

no problem with the x/y box, that what I use now (and might continue to use). I just read in the manual that you could have two inputs and wanted to cut out as much stuff as possible and control the input levels separately. I think the idea just made me want to do it but I might just use the x/y box.

For me its really quite simple:
Plug my electric in the front, plug acoustic in rear.
When I change patches, they're setup for either guitar.
