Monitors

If you do a search on many top monitors here, you'll find a slew of threads on this.

My personal favorites are the HS80's, they are the best bank for the buck I (personally) have found.

Seems like there are a lot of fans for the HS80s. I use a pair of Behringer reference monitors with a calibrated sub. it's pretty faithful to what my onstage FRFR rig will deliver, but I think all monitors have some idiosyncrasies.

I recently acquired some Monoprice 5 monitors (mostly for mixing) and I'm really happy with their price/sound quality ratio. ($175 or so for the pair)

I just did a session with someone that has a pair of those equator D5s on his mixing desk. He is really pleased with them. I listened to the mix through them, and they sure seemed smooth.

i use jackie hr624s but i also like the yamaha hs80 great sound for the buck. I also used to use maudio bx8s and for the price they sounded good. they were my first set
