Modulation settings for tape delay

I'm trying to dial in a dirty, saturated tape delay tone with wow and flutter like you can get on the El Capistan, but I'm struggling a bit. I'm happy with the default tone settings, but the wow and flutter thing is just not happening like I want it to. I know it's in the modulation settings somewhere, but I can't figure out what values to use. Any ideas?

A lot of those old threads are for ultra settings or early versions of the axe II firmware and the settings don't really translate.

Anyone have any tips?

Attach the LFO 1 controller to the Mod 1 LFO1 Rate and LFO1 Depth. Set the speed of the controller to the rate of change you want. Set the width of the change on the controls to decide how freaky or less freaky you want it to to act.

You can also try attaching it to the Motor Speed parameter on the Time/FB page in AE. You have to keep the range very small if you do this unless you like it really, really whacky.

I was messing with attaching the mod 2 to a random LFO for some of that weird warbly stuff. It's going to take a little tweaking to get it where I want it, but I think I'm on the right track now.
